BJP is heading towards destruction, says Madan Lal Khurana New Delhi | June 12, 2006 9:12:26 PM IST Former Delhi Chief Minister Madan Lal Khurana who floated his own political outfit 'Bharatiya Jan Mahasangh', said on Monday that that the BJP was heading towards destruction as its senior leaders were being side lined by young leaders. Addressing press conference, the expelled BJP leader said that the youth wing of BJP had started taking over the party after 1998 when the NDA formed the Government. Khurana accused the BJP leadership of running the party like a private limited company and not like a political party. Citing example of the Congress, Khurana said that during emergency, the party was taken over by its youth wing, which imposed emergency in the country after which the party lost the faith of its voters. He said that the BJP was heading the same way as the Congress and would soon be finished because of its hi-fi youth wing. "I just want to say that the mistake which happened in Congress should not be repeated in the BJP. The youth wing of Congress sidelined the veteran freedom fighters, who had formed Congress, which resulted in a situation like emergency. Today, the BJP is heading towards the same way. The leaders who have worked hard for the party before 1998 are being sidelined and the party is being run like private limited company by it's new leaders. The party is heading towards disaster," said Khurana. He said that the senior leaders of the BJP Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Lal Krishna Advani were surrounded by the young leaders and advising them with all wrong suggestions which would eventually drive the party towards destruction.
