AIADMK Ambattur secretary hacked to death Chennai | June 02, 2006 8:42:53 PM IST An AIADMK functionary was hacked to death in broad daylight by a six-member gang at Padi near here today.Police sources said AIADMK Ambattur Town Secretary M R Ravi (42), was performing pooja in his office, when the heavily armed gang, which came on three two-wheelers, attacked him indiscriminately around 1030 hrs. Ravi, who suffered grievous cut injuries all over his body, was rushed to a private hospital, where he died at around 1430 hrs. A Senior Police official told UNI that five special teams have been formed to nab the culprits. Police suspect previous enmity to be the reason behind the murder. Business motive was also suspected to be one of the reasons for his killing. As the news spread, shopkeeprs in Ambattur town downed their shutters. UNI XR-GV VV SHR BD1758
