Jaipur man and record breaker celebrates his 137th birthday

Jaipur, Defying the average life span of a human being , Limca Book Of Record holder, Habib Miyan turned 137 on Saturday and celebrated the occasion with his family.

Despite being the oldest man in the whole country Habib Miyan is very active and lives with his huge family of 70 members.

Hundreds of well-wishers gathered at his residence in Jaipurs Shanti Colony to wish him a longer life .

I am very happy today, and I like to eat anything put before me. I am alive by the grace of God , and will live and die according to his wish. Nothing is in my hands, I have a heart felt wish that their should be communal harmony in the country, said Habib Miyan.

His relatives are also in correspondence with the Guinness Book Of World Records to enter Miyans name.

I am very happy and we are celebrating his birthday in a grand way. All the family members of our community have come and the atmosphere is of happiness over here. Someone is cutting the cake , and others are putting balloons and decorations.said Hazi Mahmood Khan, Habib Miyans grandson

Habib Miyan worked for the erstwhile royal state of Jaipur as a band master, and has been receiving his pension for the last 65 years, which is a record in itself. Today, Habib has been lucky enough to see the sixth generation of his family. He is physically fit and still performs all of his daily chores without assistance. (ANI)
