Trouble in Pondy DMK block units

Trouble errupted in DMK Muthialpet and Ozhukarai block units over the nomination of candidates for contesting the May 3 and 8 Assembly elections here.Opposing the allocation of the Muthialpet constituency to Mr Nanda Saravanan, the Muthialpet Block DMK unit held a meeting and adopted a resolution that the seat be given either to Mr Paramasivam or Mr Vayyapuri Manikandan. The copies of the resolution were being forwarded to the party high command and also to DMK Convenor R V Janakiraman. Meanwhile, Mr A N Balan, DMK General Council Member and son-in -law of Mr Janakiraman today announced he will contest as an independent from Ozhukarai constituency. The seat was held by the Congress and Mr Balan, who nurtured the constituency, charged the party did nothing to get the seat from the Congress. UNI PAB GM MSJ HS2117
