Adhir vocal against Pradesh Congress leader Behrampore West Bengal | April 10, 2006 1:03:50 PM IST
Irritated by intra-party squabble, Murshidabad district Congress President and Behrampore MP Adhir Chowdhury today lashed out at the Pradesh Congress leadership. Talking to reporters here, Mr Chowdhury said, '' the Pradesh leadership was never sincere to sort out the diferences within the party resulting in a split. It will affect our prospects in the coming assembly elections in West Bengal.'' He said, ''the district Congress has to field independent candidates in some of the Congress-dominated seats because the Pradesh Congress did not choose deserving candidates.'' Taking advantage of the intra-party squabble in the Congress, the CPI (M) wins the election,'' Mr Chowdhury alleged. In three assembly seats having with the Congress MLAs, the district Congress has decided to field independents against the rebel MLAs because the rebels acted against the party to serve the Left interest, district Congress Secretary Khairul Khondekar said.
