" The party was well practiced with rigging to clinch the one dayer for power," she said.

Addressing a series of party election rallies in North 24 Parganas yesterday till late at night, she said the people in West Bengal were " disgusted" with the prolonged misrule of the 29-year old Left Front government and its style of rigging the elections.

Ms Banerjee said those who were afraid of CPI threats and terrorism in the elections should come forward without fear to cast their vote for ousting the Left Front from power.

She addressed the rallies at Amdanga, Naihati, Palta under Noapara and Talpukur under Titagarh constituencies beyond the time granted for such meetings. At Talpukur, the meeting continued till she delivered her speech that ended at 2235 hours before the gathering of more than two thousands party workers and supporters.

" One will not be surprised if Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee lost his seat this time contesting without rigging following the Election Commission's strict measures," she said in one of her election addresses.

Having been afraid of the Election Commission's recent strict measures, the CPI (M) might adopt different policy to threat the voters prior to the poll days to restrain them from casting their votes, Ms Banerjee apprehended.

" Why will Bengal be not able to oust the CPI (M) led Left Front from power, when Bihar could oust Lalu Yadav's RJD," she asked.

She called upon the party workers to take pledge " to give blood, but not leave the polling booths'' into the hands of the CPI (M).

Ms Banerjee said she was not eager to be the Chief Minister, but to oust the CPI (M) from the power was her sole aim and asked the people, irrespective of the political lines, to vote against the corrupt CPI (M) and protect their constitutional rights. "I don't want to be the Chief Minister, I don't want votes in my favour but, please cast your vote to drive away the CPI (M) from power," Ms Banerjee appealed.
