PM on second day of campaigning in Asom Guwahati | April 02, 2006 11:33:56 AM IST
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is on his last leg of campaigning in his adopted home state of Asom with stability and development being his main agenda.After two party meetings at Sualkuchi and Nalbari, the Prime Minister is now on his way to Tezpur and will visit Dongkamokam before flying back to New Delhi. Yesterday, in both the meetings, he stressed on stability and development, besides some talks over the peace process with both the ULFA and NSCN (IM). He spent the night at Raj Bhawan and this morning he took off for Tezpur. Tezpur is one of the most important constituencies of Asom as the Congress is trying to wrest it from AGP where the party had fielded its Chief Ministerial Candidate Brindabon Goswami. Later in the day he would fly to extremism affected Karbi Anglong district. At a press conference yesterday Dr Singh said doors are open for all militant groups for discussion.
