245 file nomination papers for first phase elections in Bengal Kolkata | April 01, 2006 12:34:28 AM IST
Altogether 245 candidates filed their paper for 45 Assembly seats in Purulia, West Midnapore and Bankura districts of West Bengal as filing of nomination for the first phase of elections on April 17 ended today.Official sources said the number of total candidates was 84 in Purulia, 98 in West Midnapore and 63 in Bankura respectively. Altogether 43 people--16 in West Midnapore, 21 in Purulia and six in Bankura filed their nomination today. There are eleven Assembly seats in Purulia, 21 in West Midnapore and 13 in Bankura. Nomination for filing nomination for the first phase started on March 24. UNI KDG PC VD DB2344
