Shunned by AIADMK, Ramamurthy decides to go alone

Shunned by the ruling All India Anna DMK (AIADMK), the Tamizhaga Indira Congress (TIC), floated by rebel Congress leader Tindivanam K Ramamurthy has decided to go alone in the May eight assembly elections in the state.The former TNCC President, who was expelled from Congress after he met Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, will release the party's first list of candidates tomorrow, party sources here said. The senior leader, hailing from the Vanniyar community, incurred the wrath of the Congress High Command when he openly criticised the Pradesh Congress and the DMK, heading the Democratic Progressive Alliance (DPA) for ignoring the interest of Vanniyars. On being expelled from the party, he floated the TIC and held discussions with Ms Jayalalithaa for a possible tie up. However, he failed to get an invitation from the AIADMK for an alliance.
