Seat squabble: DMK man quits party Chennai | March 31, 2006 1:42:15 PM IST
Tiruvallur District DMK Representative and Ambattur Municipality Member C Austin today resigned from the party protesting against allocation of Villivakkam Assembly seat to Mr Ranganathan, for May eight Assembly elections. In a statement here, Mr Austin said Mr Ranganathan had joined the DMK very recently and it was not fair for the party high command to allot a seat to him, that too, an outsider to the constituency. He said there were hundreds of true partymen who had been with the party for several years without enjoying any benefits, including holding party posts, in Villivakkam itself and added the decision was not acceptable the 'real' DMK men.
