Campaign van of DMDK impounded Pondicherry | March 30, 2006 7:34:20 PM IST
Police impounded a van of the Desiya Murpokku Dravidar Kazhagam (DMDK) here today as it was used for election campaign without prior permission.Additional senior superintendent of police B Srikanth told UNI that the van was impounded and the driver arrested. Meanwhile, DMDK founder president and actor Vijayakanth visited Pondicherry today and collected the applications from aspirants seeking party tickets to contest the assembly election in the UT. He later launched the election campaign of the party near the statue of Sivaji Ganesan at Karuvadikuppam. The moment Vijayakanth left the place, another van of the party came there and started election campaign, following which the vehicle was impounded by the police. UNI PAB MSJ KP1840
