134 aspirants file nomination in Bengal Kolkata | March 29, 2006 8:34:39 PM IST
Altogether 134 candidates filed their nomination in seven West Bengal districts today for the first two phases of Assembly elections.Chief Electoral Officer(CEO) Debasish Sen said a maximum of 33 nomination papers were submitted in Purulia district followed by 28 in Bankura, 26 in West Midnapore, 22 in Nadia, 19 in Hooghly, five in Howrah and one in East Midnapore. Today was the fifth day for filing nomination for the first phase and second day for the second phase. Purulia, Bankura and West Midnapore go to polls in the first phase while polling in Nadia, Hooghly, Howrah and East Midnapore will be conducted in the second phase. Filing of nomination for the first and second phases started on March 24 and 28 respectively to continue for a week. UNI KDG MSJ HT2025
