Tambaram Constituency to have 895 polling booths Kancheepuram Tamil Nadu | March 27, 2006 5:33:55 PM IST
Tambaram Constituency in this district will have the highest number of 895 polling booths, while Accharapakkam will have the lowest number of 166 polling booths, according to R Venkatesan, the District Collector.Talking to newspersons here today Mr Venkatesan said 473 polling booths would be set up in Alandur, 261 in Tiruporur, 201 in Chengalpattu, 176 in Mathurantagam, 207 in Uttaramerur, 244 in Kancheepuram, and 247 in Sriperambadur in this district. Voter identity cards had been distributed to 60 per cent of voters so far, he said and added that by this month end, 95 per cent of voters would be covered. He said 11,000 Government employees will be deployed for election work in the district for the May eight assembly elections to Tamil Nadu. UNI XR KVV MSJ RN1632
