Hardoi (Uttar Pradesh) | May 17, 2008 4:45:13 PM IST

The Uttar Pradesh government ordered a probe Saturday after a woman in the final stages of labour was denied entry into a hospital here and gave birth outside.

Kiran gave birth to a baby boy at the gate of the Hardoi district hospital Friday. After the delivery, Kiran's family members took her and the baby to a private nursing home for treatment, said the police.

"A team of four doctors led by the chief medical officer is looking into the matter. A report naming several hospital officials has been registered," Hardoi city magistrate R.S. Srivastava told IANS.asit/rd/jg
