Valet power strips recalled
Washington | May 10, 2008 12:01:13 AM IST

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall Friday of Charge-It-All Valets, power strips that pose a fire and shock hazard.

Consumers should stop using the power strips that were sold with medium and large Joy Mangano Charge-It-All Valets, which have three and six receptacles, respectively.

The power strips are intended for items like cell phones, mp3 players, PDAs and cameras.

The power strip cover comes with the letters J and M.

No injuries have been reported. About 17,000 units were sold.

HSN LP of St. Petersburg Fla., was the exclusive seller of the device, which was on the market from October 2007 to January 2008 and sold for $40 to $50.

Consumers are instructed to contact HSN LP replacement and an in-store refund of $5.

HSN can be contacted at (888) 540-7052 or at the company Web site at www.hsn.com.
