The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall Friday of Honda Motor Co. all-terrain vehicles due to loss of steering control. A CPSC statement said the electric power steering shaft of model year 2008 Honda TRX500 TVs could break unexpectedly, causing loss of control. Riders could risk injury or death, the statement said. About 1,400 of the the recalled models, also known as FourTrax Foreman 4X4s, were sold through Honda dealers nationwide between October 2007 and March 2008, retailing for between $6,850 and $7,400. Consumers were advised to stop using the recalled ATVs immediately and contact a Honda dealer to schedule a free repair. Consumers can also call Honda at 866-784-1870 for more information. (UPI)
