Poor round for Digvijay, Gangjee in Beijing Open

Rahil Gangjee shot dismal four over 76 and slipped down the leaderboard to be tied 46th on a windswept penultimate day of Pine Valley Beijing Open here today. The second Indian in the fray, Digvijay Singh returned two over 74 and was in the company of his compatriot Rahil at tied 46th place. The two Indians had identical total of two over 218 after three rounds. Rahil, who had raised hopes with his stunning second round of 68 which helped him leapforged from tied 59th to tied 17th position, was totally off colour this morning and tumbled down 29th places. Digivijay, yesterday tied 58th, climbed up 12 slots but that was no consolation for him. Rahil, dropped whopping nine strokes - five of them in the back nine, while hitting two birdies in his highly forgetable round. Digvijay, who had two par rounds of 72 each, started the third round on a wrong note as he dropped three notes in his front nine while hitting a birdie in between. On his back nine, he had a birdie and a bogey to end the round with 74. Japan's Hiroyuki Fujita with an even-par 72 took his total to 12-under 204, to emerge sole leader with a six-stroke lead. Thailand's Chinnarat Phadungsil was tied for the second spot together with Japan's Shinichi Yokota who shot a 69. -- (UNI) -- 10SPD28.xml
